Great White Egret was still a feature on South West pits this afternoon between 1245 and 1345 hours. Other notables here were 2 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Shelduck and 1 Kestrel. On South pits my notables were 1 Redshank, 2 Egyptian Geese, 1 Green Woodpecker, 6 Lapwings and 7 Shoveler.
On Kirkby Reserve pits, I observed 12 Goldeneye, 2 Egyptian Geese, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe and discussed with a couple the features of a hybrid Scaup x Tufted Duck. Whilst attempting to identify gulls on the landfill tip, 2 Green Sandpipers flew over.
