Rufous-chested Dotterel
A rare day off and with generous help I was able to get out and about to see more of the West Falkland camp. At Albermarle I finally managed an image of one of a pair of Black-chinned Siskin (above). The Rufous-chested Dotterel was observed slightly North of Albermarle along with a Falklands Pipit.

At the Rookery, my first encounter with Gentoo and Magellanic Penguins were an obvious must see. With 3 colonies, c1200 pairs in total of Gentoo's, they outnumbered the Magellanic Penguins at c20 pairs.

Also observed here of note were c10 Chiloe Wigeon (2 of which are heading left in the background of the above image, behind the Speckled Teal), 1 Variable Hawk, 6 Crested Duck, 5 Turkey Vultures, 18 Ruddy-headed Geese and 2 Southern Giant Petrel.

At Cape Meredith, c50 Black-browed Albatross were observed heading West however obtaining an image at distance was difficult but managed a record shot - just! Also observed here were 5 Pale-faced Sheathbill, 2 Magellenic Oystercatcher and c40 Southern Sealion.
