Albermarle, West Falkland. 16 October 2011

Could not resist another opportunity to see the King Penguin again so off I went - it is very impressive and never tire of its splender. In addition to the King, other notables were 15 Speckled Teal (one pair with young), 2 Chiloe Wigeon, 20 Crested Duck, 2 Rufous-chested Dotterel, 6 Two-banded Plover and 1 Southern Giant Petrel.

Around the headland, gulls had accumulated around some kelp so I took a look. I observed 10 Brown-hooded Gull, c50 Kelp Gull and c120 Dolphin Gull. A fly by from 2 South American Terns ensures my list is creeping along nicely.
