Albermarle, West Falkland. 15 October 2011

A visit to the Rookery this afternoon to see something special was on the cards and did not disappoint. Observed the following: Crested Duck, Speckled Teal (with young), 2 Southern Giant Petrel, Kelp Gull, Upland Goose, 15 Ruddy-headed Geese, 2 Dark-faced Ground Tyrant, Black-throated Finch, Striated Caracara, 4 Two-banded Plover, 10 White-rumped Sandpiper, 2 Magellanic Oystercatcher, Turkey Vulture, Rock Shags, c600 Gentoo, 1 Magellanic Penguin and 1 King Penguin.

In the bay I also noted 3 Peales Dolphin.

At Albermarle itself I observed 1 Black-crowned Night Heron, 2 Blackish Oystercatchers, 1 Magellanic Oystercatcher, Falkland Steamer Duck and Kelp Geese.
